A ministerial journey from 1993 to 2013, Bishop Shelton C. Daniel has a God-given talent to lead people with tender mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness and an exceptional way of making others feel needed and loved. Bishop Shelton C. Daniel has exclusively and conclusively taught and preached the doctrine of Jesus Christ. He stands uncompromisingly for the inspired Word of God and seeks to apply the unchanging principles of God’s Word to the pressing problems of modern life, exalting its central figure, the Lord Jesus Christ. His vision that animates, motivates, and inspires followers, enables him to transform the people of God.
Called to ministry in 1993, under the leadership of Bishop James E. Daniel, of Greater Joy Baptist Church, Durham, NC, Pastor Daniel began his ministry as an evangelist and a singer, sharing the gospel in cities throughout North Carolina. In 1999, Reverend Shelton C. Daniel was called to pastor the people of Ivory Hill Baptist Church and was installed as pastor, leader and teacher.
In September 2008, Reverend Shelton C. Daniel, founded and planted the Greater Joy Baptist Church of Rocky Mount. Pastor Daniel focuses on the restoring of the whole “man” providing the strength and spiritual nourishment, through the powerful preaching and teaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was consecrated to the office of Bishop on May 1st, 2010 and named presiding prelate of JCCN in 2022.
He is currently the Bishop of Greater Joy Baptist Church of Rocky Mount, NC and has planted four (4) churches in the eastern North Carolina.
Bishop Shelton C. Daniel, was led by God to start Greater Joy Church North located in Roanoke Rapids, NC in 2013. The church has grown tremendously because if his teachings and his love for God.
He's also currently serving as president of the Eastern North Carolina Ministerial Alliance which consist of more than 100 plus pastors.
